AARCS Supports Calgary Seniors through Pet Health Clinic

Written by Kayli McClelland, Communications Specialist

This June, we hosted yet another Pet Wellness Clinic to support Calgary’s senior citizens – and this was our BIGGEST CLINIC YET!

We saw more than 80 pets through the clinic in one day thanks to our incredible veterinary hospital team and volunteers. These animals belong to seniors in the community who are living on fixed incomes and love their pets dearly. For many, their furry best friend is a source of companionship and comfort.

“I am incredibly proud to be part of an organization and team that works so tirelessly to serve others,” said Amy Corpe, Director of Animal Health at AARCS, and the driving force behind these clinics.

“Today, we made a difference. We made an impact. We brought relief, comfort and peace of mind to people who care so much for their animals.”

Our veterinary team provided basic wellness care such as exams and vaccinations to help keep these beloved companions happy and healthy. In a world where expensive veterinary care is one of the top reasons cited for pet surrenders, we’re so happy to have been able to provide this service.

We can’t thank our dedicated community of animal lovers enough. From donors to volunteers to supporters of all kinds, this work takes a village, and we’re so grateful to have you as part of ours. Your kindness and compassion change lives for people and animals.

We look forward to hosting another Senior’s Pet Wellness clinic soon – stay tuned for details!
