Community Spotlight: The Kelly Taylor Memorial Charity Invitational Raises $50,250 for AARCS!​

At AARCS, we are incredibly fortunate to have a community that steps up for animals in need in so many creative and meaningful ways. This spring, we witnessed a beautiful example of how honouring a loved one – and sharing a passion for animal welfare – can bring people together to make a massive impact.


On May 19th, golf enthusiasts and supporters gathered at Predator Ridge Resort in Vernon, BC, for the inaugural Kelly Taylor Memorial Charity Invitational Golf Tournament.

Organized by Kelly’s partner, Pam Lavers, alongside the team at The Tower Group, the tournament was created to honour the lasting legacy of Kelly Taylor. Kelly was a co-founder of The Tower Group, an avid outdoorsman, and a true friend to animals. He dedicated his life to supporting others, and alongside Pam, his beloved “fur babies” were always at the center of his world. Hosting a memorial golf tournament felt like the perfect way to bring his favourite people together to support a cause close to his heart.

“We… had dogs as our personal life over kids. They were the biggest thing in our lives. We always loved animals and what AARCS did in giving them voices and second chances,” Lavers shared.

“Over the years, we were honoured to help raise money for them… and it means so much that Kelly’s memorial tournament could continue that legacy of giving back to an organization so close to our hearts.”


Thanks to the incredible generosity of the friends, clients, and professional contacts of The Tower Group, the tournament was a massive success, raising an astounding $50,250 for the animals at AARCS!

Third-party fundraisers like this one are absolutely vital to the work we do. These funds will go directly toward helping us provide medical care, shelter, and foster homes for thousands of animals across Alberta.

We want to extend a huge, heartfelt thank you to Pam, everyone at The Tower Group, and every single golfer and sponsor who took to the green at Predator Ridge. Your kindness and generosity ensure that Kelly’s legacy lives on through the second chances given to animals in need.
